If you have any tight spots (also known as myofascial trigger points) a foam roller may be just what you need.
If you’ve never used a foam roller, feel free to get in touch for an appointment so we can give you specific exercises based on your individual needs. For everyone else, this is your reminder to get your foam roller out of the cupboard and get rolling 🔥

What are your favourite ways to take care of yourself?
When it comes to maintaining your body, your feet When it comes to maintaining your body, your feet are no exception! They, like any other body part, are susceptible to stress (both emotional and physical) and need regular TLC. So here’s a little encouragement to include your feet in your self care routine!
Have you experienced the IPC difference? All our a Have you experienced the IPC difference? All our appointments are longer than most podiatry clinics. We pride ourselves on providing a more thorough examination and treatment. Our approach is unique and it’s this point of difference that makes an appointment at IPC unlike any other (in our opinion). This time of year presents unique challenges for y This time of year presents unique challenges for your feet, however looking after them now will ensure they are in tip top condition by the time spring rolls around. When it comes to wintertime footwear, here are a few tips to help your feet:

〰️Alternate shoes each day to allow ample time to ‘air out’ between wears. The added warmth from closed shoes and warm socks may cause your feet to sweat, increasing the risk of infections such as tinea (athlete’s foot)

〰️As you may wear thicker socks in winter, ensure shoes and boots fit comfortably and are not too tight

〰️Choose shoes with a sole that has adequate grip as this will help your feet stay dry during the rain and remain stable on slippery surfaces
There’s nothing like walking barefoot in the san There’s nothing like walking barefoot in the sand and ocean to get grounded! If you’re able to find a patch of grass/dirt/sand for a few minutes each day, treat yourself to this experience. It is thought that direct skin contact with the earth’s surface can improve health, especially in relation to inflammation, immune responses, wound healing, prevention and treatment of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. We ourselves are considered electrical beings and as such, our systems require recharging - which happens via the transfer of free electrons found in the earth ⚡️🦶🏻🌱
If you’re someone who suffers from extremely col If you’re someone who suffers from extremely cold feet in winter, you may want to avoid jumping into a super hot shower or bath. This rapid change in temperature may lead to you developing chilblains 🥶 If you’re not sure what this condition is, there are some telltale signs to look out for - red swellings or bumps on the tips of toes that can become itchy or sore! At worst, these lesions can blister and break open (ouch!) Our advice is to start with the water lukewarm and slowly heat it up. As a general rule, it’s good to avoid putting your cold feet in direct contact with anything that is too hot (ie. wheat bags, hot water bottles and heaters) and as always, if you’re unsure or need further advice, don’t hesitate to get in touch! 📷 @studiolowsheen
It can be easy to forget about our feet this time It can be easy to forget about our feet this time of year (out of sight, out of mind right?!) but it’s still important to check in with them. In particular, take note of the skin and nail health and if you’re a regular nail polish user, winter can be a great time to leave the nails bare. This can help reduce the risk of discoloration and the chance of a fungal infection👌🏻

Something you may not know is that we now offer Re Something you may not know is that we now offer Reflexology treatments at IPC!This treatment is an ancient form of natural therapy (dating back to approximately 2330BC). Pressure is applied to areas on the feet which correspond with the organs and systems of the body and follow the energy flow from the feet to the brain. Not only is Reflexology believed to support the body's own natural healing processes, it can also be a wonderful way to find mental and physical relaxation, as well as a deep sense of calm!
